Transforming Services in Planning and Development Control
The White Paper, 1APP and beyond…
September 11th, City of Manchester Stadium
Planning and development control is facing fundamental change as a result of the Planning Reform White Paper and the introduction of 1APP in October 07. This one day event will consider how local authorities can best respond to these challenges facing the planning system whilst continuing to provide seamless service delivery.
Through an extensive panel discussion and expert input, the planning reform white paper (Planning for a Sustainable Future) will be discussed in detail. Its potential impact on local planning authorities along with concerns over a compromise in quality will be considered via a comprehensive panel of expert speakers. 1APP will also be discussed in depth via case study presentations from two of the first wave authorities – learn from their experiences of implementing 1APP, the challenges they faced in ‘going live’ with the new system and how to overcome similar obstacles in your organisation. In addition, some of the other key issues prevalent to planning services will be discussed, including how local authorities are approaching e-consultations on planning applications; mobile working; document records management and best practice in working with electronic case files.
