Process Mapping for Business Improvement

30th August 2007, Manchester

(Please note this workshop is also taking place in LondonDetails here.)

Public sector organisations are striving to improve services to their customers while achieving efficiencies.  Process mapping, rather than simply documenting the way work is done, can be used as a platform for transformation and improvement.

This workshop will encourage you to examine your organisation from the customer’s perspective to see where you are adding value, and where waste and inefficiency are undermining your ability to deliver service improvements.  It will take you step by step through how to define, map and analyse processes.  You will be introduced to an approach that will help you to engage the people and keep them focused on activities that will lead to improvements in efficiency and service delivery.

Sessions will include:

  • Understanding how your work is working from a systems thinking perspective v the traditional command and control thinking
  • Considering work as a process is an essential prerequisite for business improvement
  • Explaining the benefits of process mapping from the customer perspective in order to get buy-in across the organisation
  • Mapping and analysing your work processes from end to end, identifying waste and inefficiency and its impact on your customers
  • Measuring how efficiently your processes are responding to demand

Who will benefit from this workshop?
All managers who are responsible for improving performance, as well as business analysts and business development managers.
